Ann set up Clarity Family Law in 2011, having trained and worked for some years at Boyes Turner in Reading, then becoming a partner at a Legal 500 firm in Hampshire. Ann has many years’ experience dealing with all aspects of family law and is a trained mediator and collaborative law practitioner. Ann was also a member of the Resolution training committee, involved in the annual training of all family law judges in the UK. Ann is a co-author of ‘Ancillary Relief Practice & Precedents’ which has been acclaimed as a “core resource and an essential addition to the library of the ancillary relief practitioner.”

Ann lives locally with her husband and is a keen tennis player, sitting on the committee of her local club. She has a passion for the law, justice and human rights, and loves to travel.

Richard Crallan is a consultant solicitor at Clarity. Richard was called to the Bar in 1990 and subsequently worked as a family law barrister for ten years before becoming dual qualified and working at a well known firm of divorce solicitors in Mayfair, London, where he undertook very high net worth cases.

In 2003 Richard moved to Australia and working as a research assistant to Professor Patrick Parkinson at the University of Sydney on a research project: Children's Participation in Family Law Disputes (Cashmore and Parkinson 2009). After qualifying as a lawyer in New South Wales Richard then practised as a specialist family law barrister and solicitor in Perth, Western Australia, for three years.

In 2007 Richard returned to the UK and then set up his own firm of solicitors in Bath, specialising in family law for ten years.

Mahum joined us in 2015, qualifying as a solicitor in 2017, with a strength in creating great rapport with our clients. An analytical but creative problem solver, Mahum looks after our private client work, dealing with wills, probate, and lasting powers of attorney. She is building on her expertise, dealing with all aspects of divorce, children issues, financial settlements and future planning such as pre-nuptial and living together agreements. Mahum has a keen interest in reading, photography and social media, as well as animal welfare – which is just as well as she shares her home not only with her husband, but with her two boisterous cats!
